Shot on VistaVision by Emmanuel Lubezki, DIGGER follows Digger Rockwell, played by Cruise, a man of enormous power on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity's savior before the disaster he unleashed destroys everything. Iñárritu calls it a comedy of catastrophic proportions, and it may be Cruise's most unexpected role in decades.

The ensemble features Sandra Hüller, Jesse Plemons, John Goodman, Riz Ahmed, Sophie Wilde, Emma D'Arcy, and Michael Stuhlbarg.

DIGGER opens only in theaters October 2.
