Fandango: Mortal Kombat II, The Conjuring and Tron make Top 10 must-see fall flicks list

Fandango, the nation’s leading online movie ticketing service, today announced the results of its 2025 Most Anticipated Fall & Horror Movies Survey of more than 2,000 ticket buyers. The survey focused on films opening in theaters from September 1 to October 31, 2025. Movie lovers can expect an impressive lineup this season, including epic blockbusters, popular franchise entries, hair-raising thrillers, and star-studded flicks. With so many great movies ahead, it’s no surprise that 65% of survey respondents plan to see three or more films this fall.

"Summer may be winding down, but this fall's movie season looks to offer something for a variety of audiences,” said Shawn Robbins, Director of Analytics for Fandango. “From fan favorites Tron: Ares and Mortal Kombat II to horrors, comedies, thrillers, and dramas, there's no shortage of entertainment to grace the big screen in the coming months.” Ticket buyers also shared that they are especially eager to see their top movie picks on the biggest screens possible, with 70% of respondents noting they'd be interested in seeing movies in a premium format, such as IMAX.

Horror fans are also buzzing with anticipation for the terrifying new releases and returning franchises coming to theaters this fall, with 82% of survey respondents agreeing that a theater environment makes them more immersed in the scary experience when watching horror movies.
