Conway the Machine: Of course the ‘You Can’t Kill God With Bullets’ is a must-hear album
If we’re being honest, anything rap heavyweight Conway the Machine drops is worthwhile. So how about knowing you have a full-fledged new studio effort in the form of his You Can’t Kill God With Bullets project? Oh yes.
Conway the Machine delivers a solid must-hear new album
The production is beyond fire with everyone from The Alchemist and Detroit’s own Apollo Brown to hitmaker Conductor Williams onboard. Add in Conway’s signature rapping style plus guest features all over the place like G Hero and Roc Marciano, too? Tough.
You Can't Kill God With Bullets is one of Conway's most ambitious and expansive albums to date, welcoming regular collaborators like The Alchemist, Apollo Brown, Conductor Williams, who produced this summer's single single "Se7enteen5ive," and making space for songs with unexpected producers, like Timbaland and AraabMuzik. The album is also home to features from artists like Roc Marciano, who jumped on Conway's most recent single "Diamonds" a couple weeks back, G Herbo, Whoo Kid, Tony Yayo, Lady London, and KNDRX.
With this album, Conway looks to solidify his standing in the game by crafting an immortal sound that builds off his prolific run over the past decade and a half. This is his first album to be released since inking a deal with Roc Nation Distribution earlier this year. A standout to me in the 18-track run include "Crazy Avery," which features trademark bouncy production from VA beach legend Timbaland, providing a nice foundation for Con to spit playful bars. Another highlight is "Nu Devils" which finds Conway trading verses with Chicago mainstay G Herbo atop a glorious beat from Araab Muzik and Beat Butcha. Additionally, if you're looking for a track where Con is simply rapping about life and the most high, then look no further than track three, "BMG," which is one of my favorites on the whole project.
