JustWatch: Netflix continues to prove it’s sort of a big deal in 2026

It’s safe to say if there’s only one subscription to have - it’s gotta be Netflix, right? Turns out JustWatch is keeping tabs on the stats and the numbers don’t lie - the big flex on Netflix’s popularity notably in the fourth quarter of 2025? Epic.

JustWatch crowns Netflix as the big streaming super giant

It’s one thing to have a few good shows but how about blockbuster flicks and must-stream series? Netflix is doing it big on a regular basis - but especially these past few months.

Here’s the latest JustWatch U.S. streaming market share data: Q4 2025 saw Netflix (20%) retake the #1 spot, but the bigger story is how much tighter the overall market has become. The big platforms lost ground over the year as Disney+ (14%) and Apple TV+ (9%) continued to grow.

Quick highlights:

  • Netflix finished Q4 as the U.S. market leader, overtaking Prime Video

  • Netflix and Prime are both down year-over-year, suggesting rising competitive pressure at the top.

  • Disney+ and Apple TV+ posted the strongest gains in 2025 (+2pp each), reinforcing ongoing market fragmentation.

Potential Netflix + WBD Merger: The report also provides a useful snapshot of the market when assessing consolidation scenarios. According to JustWatch data, a combined Netflix (20%) and HBO Max (13%) offering would represent a combined share of 33% of the U.S. SVOD market.
