Luhh Dyl uses his fast-paced flows and philosophical rhymes to make sense of the world around him, painting a unique picture of the life of a rising rap star. The 22-year-old Detroit native demonstrates how he works through his hardships in A Time To Hurt, A Time To Heal (ATH²), his ambitious new album. Dyl divides the 21-track album into two halves, dedicating Disc One, A Time To Hurt, to processing his pain, and the second, A Time To Heal, to choosing to find the joy in life, even after the pain. Now available for purchase on vinyl (HERE), A Time To Hurt, A Time To Heal (ATH²) is available on all platforms via 300 Ent.
Along with the album, Dyl shares the new video for "A Momma's Prayer," the album's moving opening track. Beginning with heavenly choirs and words of wisdom from Dyl's own mother, "A Momma's Prayer" takes us to church, as Dyl promises to stay in touch with his faith and his true self, even as his circumstances continue to change. Arriving with a music video, the song features a soaring hook from Philadelphia melodist Lihtz, which complements Dyl's momma's prayerful intro and Dyl's probing verses.
Aided by regular producers like Hardheaded, LQTheBanker, and Bugg, plus high-profile new collaborators like Helluva, Pooh Beatz, TNTxD, and A-Lau, Dyl cultivates a sound that mixes acoustic instrumentation with thumping Michigan bass, creating a contemplative, yet propulsive background that fits his introspective lyricism. On A Time To Hurt, "Ion Feel Them" showcases Dyl's burgeoning skill with melody, while "Tour Life" is a sweeping and cinematic anthem that fits some of Dyl's hardest flexes over Old Hollywood strings. A Time To Heal is comparatively brighter, driven by ethereal vocal samples and airy synths, featuring songs like "College Girl," complete with a sample from Lily Allen's "Who'd Have Known?", and "Way It Goes," a collaboration with internet sensation Shiloh Dynasty.
ATH2's new highlights deepen the perspective Dyl offered in his recent singles, including the wistful "Nobody Dere," spritely closing message "Till Den," the Helluva-produced "Rollin With Me," and "Still Having Problems," a collaboration with NoCap. Notably, the album features "New Edition," a flex-heavy posse cut with guest spots from Babyfxce E, Luh Tyler, and 1Up Tee, as all four Gen Z emcees do their thing atop ice cold keyboards and attempt to one-up one another with out-of-pocket boasts.
A Time To Hurt, A Time To Heal (ATH²) is the follow-up to Hear My Cry, his October 2025 album, anointed by Pitchfork as one of the Best Rap Albums of 2025. Dyl kept the momentum from his critically acclaimed album, and his collabs with the likes of Veeze, Tee Grizzley, and Lil Tony Official, going into 2026: In January, Complex named him of the Rappers To Watch in 2026. Dyl is also preparing to join his fellow Michigan rapper Babyfxce E as direct support on "Da Realest Tour," a 21-date spring national tour. The tour kicks off with a hometown show in Detroit on May 13th, passing through major markets like Chicago, Los Angeles, and Atlanta before ending in NYC on June 15th.
Only just tapping into his immense potential, Luhh Dyl is ready to make a name for himself. With ATH² out now, he proves that he is an artistic force that can't be ignored.
