Need more tunes to get your week rocking? How about relying on hip-hop artist Maliibu Miitch coming through with her new Sailor Goon studio effort? Say less.
Maliibu Miitch delivers with her hard-hitting ‘Sailor Goon’ studio album
It’s more than an EP. How about getting 10 anthems on the newly released project with guest features ranging from Rich The Kid to Lady London? Say less.
Maliibu Miitch has been building toward this her whole career. The Bronx rapper releases her long-awaited debut album Sailor Goon, out now via MNRK Music Group. Ten tracks. No filler. All Maliibu.
Sailor Goon brings together every side of Maliibu Miitch, an artist who has always had more to say than any one record could capture. From Maliibu's infectious confidence and charisma to Miitch's gritty bars and sharp lyricism, the album showcases her range while making room for more personal moments. It opens with “FED Interlude,” setting the tone before moving into the hard-hitting “BBM”featuring P.C. and the high-energy “Do A Trick” featuring Rich The Kid. “Rap Rihanna” puts her unapologetic confidence front and center, while “Wif3y” lays out her expectations plainly: “if you ain’t spending money, how I’ma know if you like me.” On “Elevators,” she explores her singing voice and reve
“Sailor Goon means everything to me. I've been through a lot in this industry, and there were times when I didn't know when this moment would come. To finally release my debut album on my own terms is a feeling I can't even explain. I put my heart into this project, and every experience, good or bad, has brought me here. It's been a long road, but I'm proud of what I've created, and I hope people can feel that when they listen.” — Maliibu Miitch
Anchoring the release is “Been Wavey” feat. Lady London & Ms Hustle, a record built for the women who have been moving and making it happen long before anyone noticed. Three respected New York lyricists, each with her own voice, her own lane, and her own following, stacking bars and refusing to shrink.
Years in the industry, situations that kept her from releasing music the way she wanted to, none of it stopping the grind. Bold freestyles, early records that made people stop scrolling, and collaborations that expanded her reach kept her name in the conversation. When the opportunity came, she delivered a run of singles through MNRK Music Group, starting with the Hitmaka-produced “Benjamin Crew” alongside Jeremih and continuing through “Do A Trick,” “BBM,” and “Wif3y.”Each release helped pave the way for Sailor Goon.
There have always been two sides to Maliibu Miitch: Maliibu, the playful, glamorous, hook-driven force that draws you in, and Miitch, the unapologetic South Bronx lyricist who commands the verses. That duality is not a concept. It is who she is, and Sailor Goon is the first time both sides get the full album they deserve.
