M.I.A. comes back-back with ‘M.I.7’ dropping April 17

Lots of fire tunes these days but how about getting the hitmaker delivering anthems again but with a gospel twist? Peep the deets.

M.I.A. announces M.I.7, her seventh studio album, arriving April 17, 2026 via OHMNIMUSIC, her own independent label and the first release fully on her own terms. Seven songs, written in seven places, over seven days, and featuring American Gospel group Sunday Service. Pre-Order HERE. The album news also arrives with her powerful new single “EVERYTHING.” Listen HERE

Recorded in Ethiopia, Egypt, India, London, Australia, and Los Angeles, M.I.7 is M.I.A.'s gospel album, not in genre, but in spirit. A work of devotion and lived experience, it examines her relationship with Christianity through her own lens. Performed as if it were her last, M.I.7arrives as a revelation in her personal timeline, completed in the chaos of the current moment. Biblical in its references and prophetic in its delivery, the album channels the singular production and vocal prowess she has been lauded for over the past 20 years. But this time she leaves politics at the door, and enters with something more intimate, more ancestral, more existential, more transcendent, and more essential than anything she has made before.

For nearly two decades, M.I.A. has been one of the most provocative and fearless artists on the planet. Each album a pillar of its own, she has built worlds and has made an indelible impact on generations. M.I.7 marks a new vision, one that revealed itself well before the recording process began. A gospel record rooted in prayer, the Book of Revelation, and the Ark of the Covenant, tracing the Bible’s truth all the way through to the present day. It is her most personal and spiritually guided work to date.

The album will arrive alongside the second launch of OHMNI, M.I.A.'s clothing collection, deepening the connective tissue between her music and her vision for a broader creative ecosystem. Returning two years after its debut, OHMNI is built around protective fabrics and a philosophy of sovereignty in the digital age. M.I.A. adds:

“IT’S BEEN 2 YEARS SINCE COLLECTION 1 LAUNCHED, AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE. WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED OVER THESE YEARS, IS THAT EVERYTHING WE HAVE SAID BEFORE IS ONLY MORE RELEVANT NOW. IN THE AGE OF M.I.7, OR THE REVELATION, IT IS NOT A TIME TO WEAR REVEALING CLOTHES, EVERY SENSE IS BEING OVER-STIMULATED AND DATA HARVESTED, OR TRIGGERED. OHMNI IN THAT TIME WE HAVE STEPPED UP OUR PROTECTION FABRICS TO A NEW LEVEL. OUR LIGHT WEIGHT COPPER 5G MESH IS NOW STRENGTHENED TO OFFER PROTECTION AGAINST 10G. OUR BAGS FABRICS HAVE ALSO RECEIVED AN UPGRADE AND OFFER PROTECTION AGAINST ADVANCED WIFI AND CELL TOWER STRENGTH. WITH OHMNI ON US, SO THEY DON’T OWN US.“
