Molly Santana delivers her new album’s fire artwork
It’s all types of glowing coming from the rap diva. With her LP arriving tomorrow, she shows off the project’s artwork and it’s impressive.
Los Angeles-based rapper and boundary-pushing newcomer, Molly Santana unveils the artwork for her highly anticipated sophomore album, Molly and Her Week of Wonders, set for release on Friday, May 30th. The announcement follows her 2024 project Masonic Musik, which showcased her range—merging rapid-fire EDM beats and dizzying hooks with her signature fusion of trap, pop rap, and rage-infused sonics. Molly’s sound is a fearless blend of raw underground rap and experimental production, anchored by a bold visual identity that constantly pushes boundaries. Pre-save the album HERE.
Inspired by the cult 1970 Czech gothic horror film "Valerie and Her Week of Wonders," Molly’s new album explores surrealism, self-discovery, and the unspoken pressures of girlhood today. Like the film, Molly and Her Week of Wonders unfolds as a dreamlike coming-of-age story, inspired by her own real-life experiences navigating the music industry at 20-years-old. In the lead-up to the album cover reveal, she released a new cinematic trailer each day of the week, each one eerie and atmospheric, building anticipation and setting the tone for the world she’s created. See HERE.
Born to a Black father and Japanese mother, Santana was raised between California and Japan, where she attended fashion school before fully committing to music. Pulling from her cross-cultural background, she’s known for blending punk, rage, trap, and alt-pop with a high-energy, hyper-feminine touch. In recent years, Santana has built a reputation as a standout in the underground rap scene, growing dedicated followings on both TikTok and SoundCloud. She’s also racked up millions of Spotify streams for tracks like “Windows Up,” “Chain Swangin,” and “Not Regular.” Over the past year, she’s opened for Ski Mask the Slump God and Don Toliver on their respective tours, made her Rolling Loud debut in Miami, and has been highlighted as one of Pigeons and Planes “Artist to Watch in 2025.” Last fall, she hit the studio with Lil Uzi Vert—a full-circle moment for the rising artist, who once translated the lyrics of "Luv Is Rage 2" into Japanese for her mother. With Molly and Her Week of Wonders, Santana is gearing up to deliver her most ambitious statement yet—cinematic, genre-defying, and setting the stage for more to come.
