It’s gritty and vivid but what else would you expect from the lyrical rap artist? Fully tap into Cory’s latest drop.
Multi-platinum-selling recording artist Cory Gunz returns with his new single, “New York New York,” available to stream on Spotify HERE and Apple Music HERE.
Produced by legendary, Grammy-winning producer Nottz, whose extensive catalog includes work with Kanye West, Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes, “New York New York” finds the Bronx native flipping Nas’ “N.Y. State of Mind Pt. II” through his own perspective and unmistakable delivery.
Cory uses the familiar foundation to paint a present-day picture of New York, moving through neighborhood memories, survival, police encounters, street politics and the realities shaping the city today.
Throughout “New York New York,” Cory packs each verse with layered references, vivid imagery and tightly constructed wordplay while preserving the tension and atmosphere of the original record. Rather than simply recreating the Nas track, he uses the concept as a launch point to tell his own story.
“New York New York” follows Cory’s recent releases, including “Bag” featuring Grafh, the New York Knicks-inspired anthem “Kat & Brunson,” with Shaq and the viral hit “WYFL” freestyle. The single received support from several Apple Music playlists, including New in Hip-Hop, Viral Hip-Hop, BARS, The New New York, The New East Coast, Hip-Hop Workout and Underground Hip-Hop Essentials.
Cory’s other recent releases include “Whispering” featuring Styles P and Whispers, “3 Staxx,” “Fish Fry” featuring NEMS and Whispers and The Militia Vol. 2. Together, the releases reflect his continued commitment to consistently delivering new music, collaborations and visuals while expanding the platform surrounding his Militia Entertainment collective.
“New York New York” further showcase his deep connection to New York hip-hop and his commitment to carrying its lyrical tradition forward.
“New York New York” is available to stream now on all DSPs!
