Rico Nasty: The wait’s over for a jam-packed RX studio album

Rico Nasty and Kenneth Blume display their undeniable chemistry on RX. “I’m happy I get to finally let you guys hear this album and soak it all in,” the PG County rapper says of the release. Re-connecting with Blume to make new music between filming for her AppleTV+ debut on Margot’s Got Money Troubles – starring alongsideElle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, Nick Offerman, Lindsey Normington – and her 2025 Fall tour, was a much needed reset, striving to craft a record that reminded fans of why they fell in love with her in the first place. Over Blume's glitchy, eclectic production, Rico's brash wordplay and fierce, funny energy make every track a hit. Dylan Brady (100 Gecs) also contributed to the album with co-production on “Butthead.”
On the focus track “Frenzy,” Rico flexes her swagger with playful delivery and lyricism over Blume’s punchy drums and distorted synth. “‘Frenzy, Frenzy, Frenzy, we couldn’t wait for this one,” she adds. “‘Frenzy was one of the first songs we made and fell in love with! Top 3 on the album.”
“Frenzy” follows “Cupcake” and “Rituals” with support from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Stereogum, Alternative Press, HotNewHipHop, GENIUS, The FADER, Okayplayer,Consequence, Pigeons & Planes, Brooklyn Vegan, The Needle Drop and Hypebeast noting “the dynamic duo is back.”
The LETHAL-ER deluxe release in December, included five new songs: “PEARLS”, “PRETEA”, “BLACK LACE”, “STUNNA” and “PEPPER” – which was produced by Blume, hinting of their plans to join forces once again since their Anger Management mixtape in 2019 and punk-rap fused hit “SMACK A BITCH” from debut album Nightmare Vacation in 2020. LETHAL was executive produced by GRAMMY nominated producer Imad Royal and featured all the hallmarks of a Rico Nasty record – female rage, heavy guitars, humor, femininity, introspection and a more complex framing of all the angles of Rico. The album was praised by Billboard, Variety, Paste Magazine, Consequence, BET, Brooklyn Vegan and a stunning raw set for NPR’s Tiny Desk along with a performance of the buoyant and radiant “CRASH” for Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
In August, Rico will head on her headlining tour coinciding with her supporting dates with Hayley Williams through mid October. The new dates include stops in St. Louis, Jacksonville, Brooklyn, Buffalo, Grand Rapids, Bellingham, Little Rock, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Mesa.
