Turtle Beach: The new Stealth Pro headset has set the bar for premium gaming goals

Normally I don't geek out too much over cool technology but if there’s one thing you can count on, it’s me geeking out over all things gaming goals-related. As someone who channels those Peleton-type goals on a nightly basis from a stationary bike, gaming headset and two mounted TVs in front of me - one for the PlayStation 5 gaming and the other for live TV - it’s clear I push for the best life has to offer and the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro wireless headset is euphoric vibes from the moment you unbox.

There are a few different angles I considered for the purpose of this post. I could go the unboxing route. Ehhh. I could just go all-out with dishing on the pros and cons - if any - of this headset. Ehhh. How about just looking at the standout-out features? Ehhh. So I decided to just do a deep dive of all the above because much like the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro headset - it’s jam-packed with awesomeness - much like this post. First things first…

$329.99/each. There’s no way around it. It’s like trying to go to your local Apple Store and hoping there’s a major sale. You’re dealing with a premium product and premium expectations are met with a premium price tag. No way around it. Unless…

Wait for it…

Boom. So yes - Turtle Beach does go the extra mile to look out for you with something as awesome and random as a 10 percent off your order just for signing up for its e-mail list - because of course you want to be kept up to date with all things Turtle Beach.

Now - just geeking out over this headset? It’s freaking Turtle Beach. They’re the Houston Astros New York Yankees of the technology world. Championship banners and every season it’s World Series-bound or bust. So with every release having such insane expectations, it’s only right Turtle Beach delivers. The company’s recent Turtle Beach multi-color (pink and teal) Stealth 600X Gen 2 wireless headsets were mind-blowing but now having the Stealth Pro launched? Game-changing? Life-changing? You bet.

I knew the moment the opportunity came about to test out the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro wireless headset I would be in for a joyride. I love to keep things 100 and as transparent as possible there so let’s just put all of our cards on the table. SteelSeries has snuck its way into my life and made gaming goals headset decisions split between their SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro wireless headsets and the line-up of Turtle Beach headsets I have until…. NOW.

Just look at the features. Signature 50mm Nanoclear drivers offer up the most clarity and powerful sound I’ve ever experienced. You can adjust the noice-cancellation levels to your preference because we all know the importance of getting a ‘Hey big head’ iMessage rings during those late hours are just as vital as your K/D ratio on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The ear cup are extremely comfortable. There are the perks and highlights like being able to use the Turtle Beach Audio Hub app to customize your audio but just from a comfort level?

Ooouuuuuu… in the words of Young M.A., of course. Much like what the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro has done, Turtle Beach provides one of the best features for the price tag - an additional lithium ion battery and charger which allows you to have infinite gaming goals - uninterrupted. There will always be a battery charging and ready to go just as you are.

End of story.

Well, not quite - there are so many additional features to geek out about. For starters, and I low-key had things mixed up during my video review - but the detachable mic is, well, I think I’ll let Turtle Beach give you the official break down of the awesomeness of this:

Stealth Pro also features versatile active noise-cancellation, adjustable from full noise-transparency where you can still hear ambient background noise, all the way to 25dB noise reduction to block out most distractions and stay focused. The Stealth Pro’s removable TruSpeak™ boom mic also reduces background noise, plus, the boom mic and dual built-in mics both utilize Turtle Beach’s exclusive S.M.A.R.T. (Sonic Measurement Audio Reduction Tuning) technology which is designed to further minimize background noise and only let your voice through.

I’m still not the biggest fan of the detachable aspect but when you consider there are already built in dual-mics, it’s just a bonus perk - speaking from personal experience, the fear of misplacing, losing or just forgetting to bring along the detachable mic throws me off just a bit.

All in all - the headset is the standard for gaming goals now. There are just too many overall perks to nerd out over. Even the charging station is convenient, easy to pack and travel with plus everything is very lightweight and makes for taking your audio experience wherever you need to be.

Just recently I cracked into the power of iPad gaming - yup, you guessed it - the power of Apple Arcade and with my additional PlayStation 5 SCUF gaming controller paired up, the headset takes me to another level because of its Bluetooth capability and being able to game on my iOS devices - MacBook Pro, you’re next.

Bringing things full circle? It’s not cheap but neither is a Tesla or BMW. You have to come to terms with the wear and tear you’ve experienced in the past and currently with your gaming headset. If you’re the type balling on a very limited budget, it’s still worth considering because of the longevity. I’ve had everything from wired headsets to non-Turtle Beach brands which just didn’t stand the test of time. When you total up how much you’ve put together in replacements, it blows beyond the $329.99 mark, even with the 10 percent off.

If you’re like the 2019 version of myself and had not taken the power of a gaming headset seriously and are on the fence - cave in and go for the full-fledged experience. ‘But Cyrus, $329.99 is a grip, browski.’ I hear you. Honestly, but imagine your first ever car was a decked-out BMW X3 with the panoramic sunroof? It beats having your parents’ 2003 Honda Accord with over 100,000 miles and a wobbly steering wheel.

As I put the finishing touches on this post and gear up for my biking goals in a few hours with the headset sitting on the handle bars, I can’t help but smile and geek out about Turtle Beach’s non-stop efforts to keep pushing the gaming culture forward. The brand and franchise continues to flourish and this newest launch has the entire 2023 championship flag waving.
