Yakiyn: It’s the black and white cinematic flex vibes in the TALKIN FYE music video drop

I love big confidence and flexing going down in visuals so it’s no shocker I am showing big love to hip-hop artist Yakiyn for delivering a solid visual to his ‘TALKIN FYE’ anthem.

Black and white flex but the rawness is on full display. Fully tap in.

Yakiyn drops “TALKIN FYE.” The bouncing, Southern-fried track is another example of the emerging artist’s unique sound and dextrous lyrics, as he unloads flexes and disses designed to turn up the heat on haters. Listen HERE.

Produced by Fki 1st (2 Chainz, Don Toliver, Kash Doll), “TALKIN FYE” mixes whirring synths, trunk-rattling bass, and bright keyboard melodies. Yakiyn struts through it all with a slouch and a smirk, stretching out his syllables across bars no one else could dream up: “Them n—s small fries, I keep it calm guys / Popping these tags on Com Garç, this shirt cost like ’bout four tires.”

Since March’s explosive single GET THE LOOT,” Yakiyn’s been busy. Beyond lighting up stages in Los Angeles (Complex’s Family Style festival) and Dallas (Wingstop’s House of Flavor), he features on Isaiah Falls’ new song Flawless.” He also appears in Samara Cyn’s oooshxt! video, and plays an outlaw in Shaboozey’s Born To Die and Cowgirl visuals.

Yakiyn also made waves earlier this year with a surprise cameo during Isaiah Rashad’s Coachella slot and a pair of SXSW sets, opening for Don Toliver at the Billboard showcase and performing with TDE. The latter landed him on Rolling Stone’s “Best Moments” roundup, which noted, “Yakiyn… got the crowd going wild immediately. He flowed in a laid-back drawl that connected the South and the West Coast, and showed off songwriting as strong as his bars — nearly every song had a memorable, chant-along hook, and he made the most of them.”

Yakiyn entered 2026 with momentum after releasing a handful of vibrant songs that culminated in the Dallas Mavericks gifting him a custom Lonestar YakNBA jersey while blasting his single SPREAD LIKE BUTTA over the arena soundsystem. That’s after the swaggering cut picked up cosigns from VIBEComplex (“Yakiyn came out swinging”), and SZA herself. He also brought the song to From the Block for a performance that oozes charisma.

Since then, Yakiyn released the chaotically booming BNYX®️-coproduction CALCULATE,” which sparked a print feature in the Dallas Observer titled “Yakiyn Is the Future.” And before that was PUT DEM BOYS TO SLEEP(see Leon Bridges dance in the video), plus a handful of SoundCloud drops like FEEL SO ALIVE featuring FELIX! of Van Buren Records

Yakiyn kicked off his current era last summer with BACKBOARD featuring Kal Banx, who is best known as TDE’s hit-making in-house producer. It’s all part of a flurry around the emerging multihyphenate who has toured with Rashad and Lexa Gates, been tapped to model in campaigns for TDE and Yeezy, and acted in Doechii’s Denial Is a River sitcom skits. In 2024, Yakiyn also released his SAD BOI EP, including YEA featuring Rashad and Luke Bar$.

But this is still just the start. Keep watching as Yakiyn continues to upend expectations.
