Storming out of Kingston on the back of his dancehall hits, Armanii is ready to embrace his heritage expand his sound. Taking his first step on the road to REVERB, his next EP, Armanii shows off his sonorous vocals over reggae instrumentation on his new single "SECOND CHOICE." Produced by Sartout Records and D'Andre Barnes, with lyrics by Armanii himself, "SECOND CHOICE" is a ballad with a classic sound and a modern edge. The backing track uses an accented groove and a lush instrumentation to create a breezy backdrop for Armanii's romantic ultimatum. Sick of being played for a fool, Armanii declares his love for his intended, making it clear that she is his number one and that she must return the favor: "Love it’s not so easy not a walk inna di park," croons Armanii.
"SECOND CHOICE" is a statement of purpose for Armanii, who emerged on the scene with his melodic dancehall bangers. Growing up in Kingston, Reggae was the music of Armanii's youth, played in his family home and neighborhood. Reggae has always been part of Armanii's sound, but "SECOND CHOICE" signals a new direction for the young artist, who plans on showing off a more personal and vulnerable side of himself with REVERB, his upcoming reggae EP.
"SECOND CHOICE" arrives after a red hot summer for Armanii, who continues to establish himself as the Caribbean's newest music sensation. The artist released three fiery singles this summer, including the danceable, Weekday-produced "PROPERTY TAX" and the Beenie Man-referencing "WORLD CLASS." Earlier, Armanii made a splash with "WUL UP," generating millions of streams across platforms. A collaboration with renowned dancehall producer NOTNICE, "WUL UP" layers Armanii's rich and melodic vocals over a muscular riddim, eschewing international influences to create a banger that is Kingston to its core.
Armanii's career is surging since the release of his hit album THE IMPACT. Released in December, the album was a major chart success, reaching #1 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Chartand #1 on the U.S. Apple Music Reggae Chart and #8 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart. THE IMPACT also earned critical acclaim, placing at #8 on Billboard’s 10 Best Caribbean Albums of 2025. Home to hit singles like "B.B.B. (Snapchat)" and "8:00 PM," and appearances from heavy-hitters like Jada Kingdom and Bay Swag, THE IMPACT helped Armanii earn three three nominations at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, for "Dancehall Album of the Year" (THE IMPACT), "Dancehall Song of the Year" (“B.B.B (Snapchat)"), and "Male Dancehall Artist Of the Year.
