CKay: The ‘forever’ summer love anthem gets the proper cinematic treatment

Need to slow down the vibes? Look no further than crooner CKay coming through with the super proper ‘forever’ visual treatment. It’s all eyes on the new music video and its chilled out tones.

From recreating the epic Titanic and Ghost movie moments to letting the warm, fuzzy love vibes get all the attention - I’m here for this creativity.

With silky smooth vocals, unrelenting charm, and an ear for rich instrumentation, Afrobeats star CKay has carved out a global lane all his own, blending emotion-driven storytelling with genre-bending soundscapes that resonate from Lagos to worldwide. Fresh off the heels of his acclaimed CKay The Second EP release earlier this month, the Nigerian megastar shares the music video for the romantic project highlight, “forever,” out now via AWAL.

Encompassed in soothing Spanish guitars, rhythmic conga drums, and a harmonious violin, “forever” finds CKay yearning for an eternal love with the woman of his dreams. He sings of freeing his ego to marry her and start a family, promising to make memories across the globe, from Santorini to Lagos for Detty December celebrations. The video captures CKay and his lover in intimate moments during a summer getaway, leading up to a romantic marriage proposal at the end.

The video for “forever” arrives shortly after CKay released the CKay The Second EP earlier this month. Earning mentions from Billboard, OkayAfrica, GRAMMY.com, and more, and including features from Sabrina Claudio on “again and Bella Shmurda on “nothing spoil,” the 6-track EP showcases CKay’s evolution as he seamlessly fuses R&B and pop with Afro rhythms, creating a body of work that feels deeply personal yet effortlessly inviting. CKay The Second marks an important milestone in CKay’s career as he aims to expand his unique sound to a global audience while leaning further into the emotional vulnerability and melodic richness that have defined his global breakout. The EP signals his most refined and intentional release yet, crafted not only to resonate with his loyal fanbase but to connect with new listeners around the world.

With a tour on the way and a recent performance at Gnawa and World Music Festival in Morocco, CKay further cements his status as one of Afrobeats’ most influential stars.
