Cory Gunz & Lucifena: The duo flip Eminem’s classic for a fire ‘Stanley’ music video
You’re always used to rap heavyweight Cory Gunz delivering rapid fire lyrics but how about seeing him slowing it down alongside crooner Lucifena for their ‘Stanley’ music video? Say less.
It’s paying homage to rap icon Eminem’s ‘Stan’ classic but with his own signature twist. Fully tap into Cory’s cinematic drop.
Multi-platinum selling recording artist Cory Gunz unveils the official video for “Stanley” featuring Lucifena, a bold reinterpretation of Eminem’s critically acclaimed record “Stan.” The video can be watched HERE and the song can be streamed HERE.
“Stanley” positions Cory in a rare moment of transparency. Cory puts his own spin on the concept, responding to the long-running questions fans have asked throughout his career — from label signings and his creative decisions to the turning points that shaped his journey. Paired with Lucifena’s gripping vocals, the track blends narrative rap and introspection, allowing Cory to speak directly to listeners who have followed him since his earliest breakout moments.
In the video, an avid fan DMs Cory asking the questions that many others may have wanted to ask The Bronx lyricist, while also noting his greatest accomplishments with flashbacks of pivotal moments in Cory’s career. By the time Cory replies to the messages, the fan becomes frustrated and decides to take an unfortunate route, reflecting a similar story told by Eminem in his infamous song “Stan.”
The new video continues a wave of momentum for Cory, arriving after a consistent run of drops including his latest project Loosie Pack 4 which features “For Da Crew” with Sheek Louch and followed the release of “Bag” featuring Grafh, along with his standout collaboration “Fish Fry” alongside NEMS and Whispers. Each release has contributed to a renewed surge of visibility across streaming platforms and social media, reinforcing Cory’s stature as one of New York’s elite lyricists. Earlier this year, Cory unleashed a string of releases with “Anxiety,” “That Part,” “Count” and others.
Cory has also maintained a strong presence on major stages and platforms. This past summer, the revered lyricist appeared on Lil Wayne’s Young Money Radio on Apple Music, where he broke down stories from his early days. Cory also delivered a show-stopping performance during Lil Wayne’s sold-out Madison Square Garden tour stop — drawing massive crowd reaction as he stepped out to his famed verse from the hit song“6 Foot 7 Foot.”
“Stanley” showcases a new layer of artistry from Cory, pairing self-reflection, storytelling, and technical sharpness in a way that nods to his legacy while speaking to the fans who have supported him over the years with answers to questions that have been long waited.
The video for “Stanley” is available now on YouTube HERE and the audio is available on all streaming platforms HERE.
