Jae Stephens: It’s sweet as ever in the Sugar Trap music video

The beauty has always been there but how about getting confidence and flexing coming courtesy of Jae Stephens in 2026? A few weeks after blessing The Culture with her ‘Sugar Trap’ - it’s only right to keep summer sweet with its official music video.

A stunner and performer from every angle. Tap into the dance-heavy cinematic drop.

Bubbling pop singer / songwriter, Jae Stephens turns flirtation into an empowering art form on new video, “Sugar Trap” out now via Def Jam Recordings / RAEDIO. Watch HERE.

“Sugar Trap” delivers Jae’s effortlessly playful yet razor-sharp perspective on women empowerment while capturing her magnetic, wielding wit and femininity with a wink and a smile. The Dallas Caton produced track layers heavy bass and bouncy percussion to amplify the candy-coated hooks and cheeky innuendos - asserting Jae as a woman who knows what she wants and won’t minimize her standards. Throughout the video, Jae transforms a dive bar into her own playground, surrounded by an all-female crew and her JaeBaes as the night’s guests. Channeling the unapologetic energy of pop culture film classic Coyote Ugly, Jae serves drinks, commands the room, and dances her way through a visual built around one rule - desire is easy, but earning her is another story.

“[Sugar Trap] is all about knowing your power and how to use it,” says Jae. “I think we as women can be too quick to place our value in someone else’s hands, so I wrote this as a reminder that we are always the prize and should never give our time to anyone less than deserving!”

“Sugar Trap” is the latest bold statement from Jae’s forthcoming debut album AUDACITY - out September 25th - cementing her as one of pop's most compelling new and fearless voices. She recently gave listeners a dose of the upcoming music with “Attaboy!” which is about taming a self-proclaimed bad boy into the perfect plus one. Notable media outlets such as Teen VOGUE, NylonVIBEOne’s To Watch among others have championed the record and continue to support her dominance in the pop space. She’s made tremendous strides with her acclaimed EPs SELLOUTSELLOUT II and TOTAL SELLOUT THE DELUXE. The SELLOUT I EP notably turned heads across the industry leading Jae to land as an opener for FLO on the US leg of their "AAA Tour" which later opened the doors to Jae’s own SELLOUTtour in October 2025 - selling out its initial three show dates in LA, NYC, and London in 24 hours. She extended the tour in 2026 making stops in a handful of additional North American cities.

Across all three SELLOUT projects, Jae’s music has been praised by the likes of BillboardRolling StoneNPRELLENOTION, Wonderland MagazineClash MagazineRated R&B, and SPIN - who dubbed SELLOUT II one of the Best EPs of 2025. She’s received a handful of additional praises such as gracing the November cover of NME MagazineRolling Stone noting her as one of the voices in The Pop-Girl Guide To DatingGQ highlighting her as a standout act in 2025’s Pop CounternarrativesReddit awarding her the Popheads2025 Best New Artist Awardas well as being acknowledged as a 2025 artist to watch byConsequence of Sound and Rap-Up

Jae recently graced the stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago and received love and rave reviews from FaderTime Out ChicagoOne’s To WatchB96 FM Chicago, and Chicago Sun Times - who headlined their review with “Jae Stephens Deserves a Larger Stage”. She is also set to head out on tour with Grammy-nominated pop / R&B singer, Khalid on the European leg of his “It’s Always Summer Somewhere” this October. With a bevy of new music on the horizon, Jae is building a world entirely on her own terms with no signs of slowing down while taking fans along for a wild ride.
