Lil Mosey: The West Coast rap crooner delivers early summer love vibes in the ‘Selfish’ music video

Who says you have to wait until summer for the love anthems to start dropping? Turns out rap crooner Lil Mosey is going all in with his ‘Selfish’ anthem. Fresh from putting the tune out to the masses, he follows it up with an official music video.

Pure fun and dating goals on full display, it’s all eyes on Mosey.

Multi-platinum artist Lil Mosey this week (5/20) released the official video for his breakout single “Selfish,” delivering a vivid and emotionally layered visual to accompany one of his most personal songs to date. The video is now live on YouTube and available to watch here.

Released via Love U Forever/Cinq Music Group, Selfish is available now on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal and all major streaming platforms.

Directed with a futuristic, cinematic eye, the “Selfish” video takes viewers into a digital universe as Mosey escapes reality through virtual reality goggles and enters the metaverse. Within this immersive world, he finds himself bowling, swinging golf clubs on a deserted course and riding alone through city streets in a glowing party bus. Each scene reflects his internal dialogue — a quiet tension between isolation and desire — as he sings about how heartbreak has shaped the way he now protects his love.

“The video really shows what this song is about — being in your own world, trying to figure out how to move forward while still carrying stuff from the past,” says Mosey. “It’s fun but it’s real too. That’s the balance I wanted.”

Blending pop, R&B and hip-hop sensibilities, “Selfish” was produced by Chaz Mishan, Tommy Rush and Lil Mosey himself, and mixed by legendary engineer Mike Dean, whose signature sound adds depth and atmosphere to the track’s soaring melodies and confessional lyrics.

Since its release, “Selfish” has been steadily rising across platforms, resonating deeply with fans drawn to its emotional honesty and genre-blurring style. Long known for his early rap hits like “Blueberry Faygo” and “Noticed,” Mosey continues to evolve into a fully realized artist with a unique sonic identity.

“I don’t want to be a rapper. I don’t want to be a pop star. I want to be an artist. A great artist,” Mosey says. “This song came from real emotion — it’s just who I am right now.”
