Li Rye: The 'JB & Rod' music video is pure energy and flexing

Want more Li Rye in your life? Look no further than how he’s serving up with tunes like ‘JB & Rod’ for the masses. Way more than a single, it’s a hard-hitting music video flex, too.

It’s all eyes on Rye and his steady approach at dropping both audio and cinematic gems. Tap in.

The song is titled after two of his closest friends. In the video, directed by ThisDeadEndShit, Rye delivers street-savvy, braggadocio lyrics while he rides around his hometown of Mobile with his crew. The release of “JB & Rod” comes after the release of his video for “Hey Sexyy”  and “Casualty”. The latter quickly became another fan favorite track as the video accumulated over 1 million YouTube views in just three weeks!

The Mobile, AL native’s sound is versatile—switching up between somber tones and sounds to menacing beats with hard-hitting street rhymes—which has garnered him a cult fanbase. Li Rye’s star has been on the rise since signing to Gucci Mane’s label.

Li Rye dropped his debut album on 1017Li Rye vs. Li Reezy this past December. The album takes a dive into Rye’s mind while he battles his two personalities. Li Rye represents his calm persona, while Li Reezy “likes to turn up all the time.” Li Rye vs. Li Reezy features 19 tracks and includes the previously released singles “All Alone,” “Li Rye vs Li Reezy,” Rookie Of The Year and Broke Asf.

Rye shows no signs of slowing down. The Mobile, AL native’s debut album followed his debut mixtape, Go Li Rye, released last summer along with the deluxe offering Go Li Rye Part III. The debut mixtape has currently garnered 35M+ US streams and counting. The tape’s stand out single “Rental Cars” peaked at #6 on Spotify’s Local Pulse New Orleans Chart. Additionally, the Rental Cars sped-up version surpassed 13M views on TikTok.

Whether it’s Rye’s aggressive flow, heartfelt lyrics, or confidence in his tone, he continues to solidify his place in the rap scene with over 48M+ US streams and 36M+ YouTube views thus far.
