MarcLo: I am 100 percent here for the super fire ‘Interest’ music video
Comedy. Tragedy. Drama. Action. It’s all a vibe in MarcLo’s new ‘Interest’ music video and I can’t look away. Holy smokes.
Pure awesomeness and while the song is flames - I am here for the visual coolness, too. Geek out with me, Attackers.
Multi-Grammy-nominated artist, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Marcus “MarcLo” Lomax kicks off his next chapter with the release of his new single “Interest,”out now. The single comes alongside an official music video directed by Aaron Katter. Bright, heartfelt, and effortlessly groovy, the track marks a defining moment in MarcLo’s evolution as a front-facing artist, one rooted in love, gratitude, and emotional clarity.
“Interest” was the first song written for MarcLo’s forthcoming project and serves as its emotional foundation. Written as an ode to his partner, the track reflects on the kind of love that reshapes your life; the kind you can never fully repay, no matter how hard you try. Carried by warm instrumentation and MarcLo’s signature musicianship, the song captures intimacy without excess, balancing sincerity with feel-good ease.
Fresh off a recent jam session with Justin Bieber and a strong co-sign from close friend and collaborator Teddy Swims, MarcLo’s 2026 is already off to a powerful start. While his pen and production have quietly shaped modern pop and R&B for years with credits alongside Dua Lipa, Zedd, Miley Cyrus, Lil Wayne, Elmiene, and more, “Interest” continues a deliberate shift toward his own artistic voice.
The single follows the release of “Marvel,” a hypnotic performance-forward track and visual that positioned MarcLo as a musicianship-led artist channeling the lineage of Maxwell, D’Angelo, and Musiq Soulchild, while sitting comfortably alongside today’s culture-shaping artists like Leon Thomas, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Lucky Daye, Ty Dolla $ign, and Jacob Collier. Together, “Marvel” and “Interest” set the tone for a deeply personal, sonically rich body of work to come.
MarcLo’s forthcoming album, 11 Days, was written during the Los Angeles wildfires and is rooted in themes of love, resilience, gratitude, and clarity. Blending elements of R&B, pop, jazz, disco, hip-hop, and gospel, the project reflects MarcLo’s belief in music as a mirror — emotionally resonant, spiritually grounded, and hopeful.
