sosocamo: It’s spooky vibes and dark settings in the ‘gravity’ music video

Love new energy? Look no further than hip-hop artist sosocamo showing out with pure originality and spooky looks courtesy of the ‘gravity’ single and music video.

It’s a real-life horror setting and I can’t look away. Completely tap in.

North Carolina artist sosocamo has released his new single “gravity” –– out now, alongside an accompanying music video. “gravity” serves as the first new music since this summer’s surprise EP Homesick. Sosocamo, the 2026 XXL Freshman class member contributes another dosage of melodic, hook-driven trap paired with percussive, downcast production, signaling a brand new era backed by a darker aesthetic and sound. “gravity” effortlessly glides through sosocamo’s expressive cadence while adding another dimension to his immersive, self-proclaimed Big Country sonic world. Directed by adit dixit, the video is a portal into the rapper’s sinister visions of rural America, featuring sosocamo dripped out in an red-lit, backwoods cabin haunted by eerie taxidermy.

On the heels of his inclusion in the 2026 XXL Freshman Class and arriving the week after his first headlining world tour wrapped, May’s Homesick EP (alongside an accompanying music video for “favorite”) continued sosocamo’s dominance of hook-heavy melodic rap, effortlessly bouncing between flows, and carefully tightrope walking between rapping and singing –– highlighting a hodgepodge of influences, and coming up with a carefully forged output over always punchy production. This EP came on the back off the February release of his highly-anticipated sophomore album Big Country which was met with critical acclaim from The FADER, COMPLEX and Apple Music. Big Country served as his first project with features, collaborating with Cactus Jack's SoFaygo, YVL's ApolloRed1, and the New Detroit leader Lelo, as sosocamo emerged with a polished sound. This release was followed by The Big Country Tour, a headlining 28-stop international tour, arrive in the midst of a momentous moment for sosocamo, marked by a Justin Bieber co-sign for his most recent single "200", spots on the RapTV Next-up Class of 2025, COMPLEX's Artists to Watch in 2026 list and XXL's The Break, as well as a fresh viral moment for his hit single “keep steady” (130M+ Streams), which is now RIAA Gold-Certified and a collaboration with Russ ("WYA") on the soundtrack of Steph Curry's new animated film, GOAT.
