Zara Larsson’s ‘Midnight Sun: Girls Trip’ album drops May 1

It’s pure spring time vibes but how about getting some summer heat courtesy of Zara? Lock in the date and peep the deets.

GRAMMY® Award-nominated global pop superstar Zara Larsson announces the forthcoming Midnight Sun: Girls Trip, due to arrive May 1 on Epic Records / Sommer House. She’s also sharing the stunning cover art, which shows the Swedish powerhouse atop a pink hot rod on the open road. Reserve your seat on the Midnight Sun: Girls Trip by pre-ordering HERE.

While little is known about the project, Zara shared some posts this week that have sparked speculation. In one image, she holds up a “Girls Trip” map that shows 12 flower icons scattered across the globe — fans have theorized that each one corresponds to an artist feature. She also uploaded photos of a brightly decorated suitcase and the colorful contents of her luggage, writing, “Packed and ready for my Girls Trip.”

The news comes hot on the heels of the 2025 release of her acclaimed Midnight Sun album, Zaranow has three songs climbing the Billboard Hot 100: Lush Life (peaking at #35, video approaching 1 billion views), Midnight Sun (#39), and PinkPantheress team-up Stateside(#6), which hit #1 on the Billboard Global 200 and Spotify’s Global Top 50 after U.S. figure-skating champ Alysa Liu did a routine to it during the Winter Olympics.

About Zara Larsson

On her fourth studio album, Midnight Sun, Swedish pop sensation Zara Larsson had a goal: “I wanted the whole album to feel like it's a summer night and it never ends,” she says. “A part of my soul is a Swedish summer night. This record encompasses that, how life is so beautiful it makes you cry.” Once she put together her team of collaborators — “Never Forget You” collaborator MNEK, up-and-coming producer Margo XS, and songwriter Helena Gao — the core four got to work. On day one, they made lead singles “Midnight Sun” and lead single “Pretty Ugly,” realizing quickly that there was magic in the room. They felt an energy that connected them, emboldening her to be open, vulnerable, raw, and real.

Midnight Sun ripples with that same confidence and trust. Its storytelling bursts with truth and vulnerability, plumbing the depth and growth of Zara’s artistry and journey over nearly 20 years in the public eye. It’s an album unafraid to show all sides of the 27-year-old: lovestruck, wistful, ambitious, cocky, flippant, and uncertain, often in the same breath. Midnight Sun follows Zara’s first three albums (2017’s So Good, 2021’s Poster Girl, and last year’s VENUS), building upon her legacy while taking things back to her roots. “Making this album brought me back to the very beginning, my first EPs when I started making music, because it was all about having fun and just creating and speaking honestly,” she says. “The people who will love this album will love a very true part of me.”
