That Mexican OT: The Texas rap heavyweight recruits bikini-wearing baddies for the Water music video

When it comes to fire anthems, you already know That Mexican OT is going to deliver. So how about seeing him cooling off with the blazing hot temps courtesy of a solid ‘Water’ music video.

A pure baddie-filled adventure going down late at night? Oh my goodness. Tap in.

Sinking his teeth into Texas trap beats with melody and verve, That Mexican OT is a natural spitter. The Bay City native leans into his playalistic side on "Water," his flossy new single. Produced by Tanaland x Slatz, "Water" proves that OT is as Texas as they come, comparing his watery wrist to Matagorda Beach (at the mouth of the Colorado River) and rocking his throwback Houston Oilers starter jacket over tin can percussion and twanging guitars. The video, releasing at 3pm  ET on That Mexican OT's YouTube, finds the rapper in that Oilers throwback, partying in a mansion with some of the baddest women in Southeast Texas, where they relax in the pool and try on OT's cowboy hat.

"Water" follows red hot singles like "Need That," "Still Virgil," and "La Cumbia De Virgil," which combines the Latin genre of Cumbia with speaker-knocking Texas rap. These singles pave the way for Cucuy, That Mexican OT's next album. Named after a boogeyman-like character in Tejano folklore, Cucuy finds That Mexican OT on demon time, flaunting his hedonistic impulses as he refines his rhyming and singing skills into sharp relief. The album continues to hone OT's signature Texas-fried sound, mixing personal reflections with party anthems and infusing hip-hop, country, and Latin influences into his music. Stay tuned for more announcements about Cucuy, arriving in the coming weeks via Capitol Records / GoodTalk / Good Money Global / Manifest.

Cucuy follows up Recess, OT's fun-loving and hard-hitting 2025 album. Recess is home to singles like the Lil Wayne collaboration "Baby Mad At Me," the twangy "Runnin," and the South Texas collab "Accessories" ft. Peso Peso. OT dropped videos for Recess highlights like "Guidance" ft. Sauce Walka & Hogg Booma and "Serrio," a Bankroll Got It-produced banger with a guest verse from Cali rapper YBE. The album features additional guest spots from BigXThaPlugDenzel Curry, and more.

OT performed songs from Recess this February at his unique hybrid concert event, called Third Coast Bucking.  Presented by Hooked Up Productions, Third Coast Bucking was a full night of live music and rodeo action, featuring performances from some of the Lone Star State's favorite artists, preceded by with top tier bullfighting and bullriding from top rodeo athletes (and enthusiastic amateurs, like OT himself). Following performances by Paul Wall and country star Braxton Keith OT closed out the night with his scintillating set, delivering highlights from his career and bringing up Johnny Dang during his namesake song. Recently, OT finished a tour of Canada and the Northern U.S. with Yelawolf and Prof, and he plans to launch yet another tour later this year. Tickets for OT's shows are available at ThatMexicanOT.net

After breaking out in 2023 with his PLATINUM-selling hit "Johnny Dang" ft. Paull Wall & DRODiand the critically acclaimed album Lonestar Luchador–earning "Best of" recognition from The New York TimesRolling StoneBillboardComplex, and Pitchfork–That Mexican OT took his success to a new level in 2024. The rapper earned a spot on the 2024 XXL Freshman list, was named one of the 7 Artists Shaping the Sound of 2024 by The New York Times, appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast (his episode topped the podcast chart for multiple days), sat for an interview with Nardwuar, headlined a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, and shut down his sets at the Austin City Limits Festival. In March 2024, OT shared Texas Technician, which featured guest spots from Slim ThugPaul Wall, and many more from the Texas scene, as well as national figures like Moneybagg Yo. The Texas Technician single “02.02.99” peaked at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100, en route to GOLD status.

Continuing to represent for Bay City as he rises through the Texas scene, That Mexican OT is ready to go on a generational run. Stay tuned for Cucuy, coming soon.
