One Umbrella: It’s a super group West Coast flex with a repeat-friendly ‘The Blueprint’ anthem here

Love super groups? Me too. So how about seeing 22nd Jim, Lil Bean and DaBoii teaming up with the newly formed One Umbrella crew featuring Lil Yee, ALLBLACK and ZayBang for their ‘The Blueprint’ audio gem? Tough.

One Umbrella unite and deliver an anthem with their ‘The Blueprint’

Forget what the others are on, how about leaning on One Umbrella for their newest winter gem? Say less. It’s a West Coast glow up audio single you can’t help but listen to on repeat mode.

The Bay Area has a rich hip-hop history, with artists who pride themselves on having distinct styles and on staying staunchly independent. Coming together in the spirit of unity in the hopes of creating a major moment for their region, five EMPIRE rappers–ALLBLACK, Lil Bean, 22nd Jim, ZayBang & Lil Yee–have formed a new supergroup: 1 Umbrella, a true collaboraiton built out of a shared purpose and genuine friendship.

All five 1 Umbrella rappers are among the most respected artists in the Bay, with long track records of success and a history of fiery collaborations. ALLBLACK and 22nd Jim hail from the same neighborhood in Oakland, while ZayBang, Lil Bean, and Lil Yee hail from across the bridge, in San Francisco, a city with a rich, if less-heralded hip-hop history than its East Bay cousin. The fearsome fivesome's styles complement each other: ALLBLACK's fierce motivational exhortations are counter-balanced by the melodic pain music favored by Lil Bean and Lil Yee, while 22nd Jim's laid-back demeanor is a cucumber-cool Yin to ZayBang's energetic, raspy Yang.

Today, the group releases "The Blueprint," the project's second single, featuring a guest verse from DaBoii, the Vallejo rapper formerly of SOB x RBE. "The Blueprint" is a classic Bay Area posse cut, providing space for all six rappers to make an impression over triumphant synth horns and 808 cowbells. The rappers run a relay sprint, effortlessly passing the baton to one another as they proclaim the strength of their brotherhood and compare themselves to NBA All-Stars. In the video, the Sinister Six bust out their finest jewelry as they stalk The City at night, preparing for their takeover. "The Blueprint" quickly follows the group's Keak Da Sneak-sampling debut single "Baller Blockin," praised by Passion of the Weiss.

Assembling like The Avengers, 1 Umbrella represents for California at a time when the culture shines a spotlight on the region, with the Super Bowl on February 8th and NBA All-Star Weekend in neighboring L.A. the following weekend. 1 Umbrella prepares to release 1 Umbrella, their debut album, on February 6th via EMPIRE.
